Legislation

The OHS Act, Regulation and Code set health and safety rules for Alberta's workplaces.

Alberta's occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation has three components. The OHS Act provides the overall legislative framework for workplace health and safety rules in Alberta. The OHS Regulation defines terms for the OHS Act and OHS Code and authorizes the Minister to establish programs. The OHS Code provides specific technical health and safety rules and requirements for Alberta workplaces.
